Job Title: Lead Carpenter

Job Summary: The Lead Carpenter is key to fulfilling the promises we make to our clients. Our clients’ experience, as well as our brand and reputation, rely heavily on this role and its responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

• All job site labour as required. 
• Combining experience with current building standards and strong problem solving skills to achieve a high-end quality final product. 
• Work individually and as part of the team in an efficient manner to ensure all tasks are completed on time. 
• Use and store materials properly and efficiently to avoid waste, shortages, damage, and avoidable delays. 
• Prepare tools and materials ahead of time to ensure efficient progress. 
• Double check all work with Lead Carpenters or PMs to proactively prevent problems. 
• Immediately address deficiencies to prevent production delays. 
• Immediately report any lost, stolen or damaged tools to Site Foreman and/or Service Manager. 
• Assist preparing sites for inclement weather. 
• Maintain a constant street presence, prioritizing public safety and cleanliness. 

Qualifications:

• The skills and experience to complete all carpentry-related aspects on any given project from foundation to finish. 
• Ability to read blueprints, perform layout by measuring, marking, and arranging materials. 
• Excellent time management and organizational skills. 
• Strong attention to detail with a solid understanding of fine finishing techniques. 
• Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively within a small team. 
• Ability to work safely and efficiently in an active and fast-paced environment. 
• Valid BC Drivers License with reliable transportation. 
• Available Monday through Friday, from 8 am to 4 pm.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional vocational training is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy materials.
• Proficient with various carpentry tools and equipment.
• Safety-conscious with a strong understanding of OSHA regulations.

Additional Assets:

• 5+ years experience as a Lead Carpenter in a similar role, with Site Foreman experience assisting with managing trades on site. 
• 5+ in residential construction. 
• Red Seal ticket in construction. 
• Passive House Tradesperson certification. 
• Valid Standard First Aid and/or Occupational First Aid certification.

Compensation: $37.50/hr – $45.00/hr
